Make New Traditions
If you want the best example of what I'm capable of, here's what I built for myself.
Make New Traditions (formerly The Un-Wedding) started in 2015 because I was working in weddings and I was frustrated. The wedding industry was — and still can be — obsessed with tradition, the same tired aesthetic, the same tired ideas and the same tired opinion of what a wedding should look like. I wanted to build something for everyone else. So that's what I did.
From scratch. No investment. No team. Just me, my laptop and a determination to build something out of nothing — so that I could work around family life.
Over the last decade MNT has grown into a multi-platform wedding media business — an online supplier directory, live events and a print magazine. It's almost impossible to list everything I can do to help your business, but this might give you some idea:
Build a brand that resonates with the right people
Launch new products, services, or even entire businesses
Identify and introduce new revenue streams
Design and build websites that look great, work hard and are optimised for search engines and AI discovery
Create user experiences that make it easy for people to find you, trust you and buy from you
Build and manage online communities
Plan, curate, produce and market live events
Write and edit long-form content, features and editorial across a range of media
Develop and execute multi-platform content strategies where every platform works together as one joined-up system
Build and manage email marketing campaigns and subscriber lists
Create and manage social media presence across multiple platforms
Design and produce branded visual assets, graphics and marketing materials
Build repeatable systems and processes that make a business run smoothly
Think holistically about how every part of a business connects and make sure it all works together to drive growth
I did all of it while also being a mum, a wife and a human being with a to-do list that never, ever ends. It took over ten years, long hours, late nights, thousands of pounds worth of online learning and more mistakes than I care to admit.
Whilst I have no regrets, if I'd have known what it was going to take back at the beginning, I'm not sure I would have ever started. Most business owners don't have ten years to spare — and they shouldn't have to. That's exactly what Big ZigZag is for.
The point isn't to brag. The point is this — if you need help with your business, I know what I'm doing. I've done it the hard way, so that you don't have to.
